Police Week

2026 National Police Week: Celebrating Our Heroes in Blue

National Police Week is a time to come together and celebrate the incredible men and women who serve and protect our communities with bravery, dedication, and heart. Established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962, this week provides a special opportunity to honor those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, while also recognizing the amazing work being done every day by law enforcement officers everywhere.

From the solemn remembrance of Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15th to the week-long celebrations, we lift up the courage, compassion, and tireless service of our police officers. These individuals embody the spirit of service, making our communities safer, stronger, and more connected.

Ways to Celebrate and Show Your Support:

  1. Introduce Your Children to Local Heroes – Take your children to visit the police station and introduce them to the officers who make our communities safer. It's a wonderful way to build positive, lasting connections with law enforcement.

  2. Send Notes of Gratitude – Whether it’s a handwritten card, a thank-you note, or a homemade sign, show your appreciation with a message of thanks. Your words can uplift and inspire those who give so much to protect us.

  3. Personalized Letters of Thanks – Write a letter to your local police station highlighting the exceptional service of a specific officer. Let them know how their dedication and hard work have made a difference in your life or your community.

This week, let’s come together to celebrate the incredible dedication of our police officers. They are our everyday heroes, and their commitment to keeping us safe deserves our deepest respect and appreciation. Thank you to all the officers who serve with honor, strength, and compassion.
